It's May 2026, and a lot has happened!

Keeping up with the blog isn't easy for me, especially with how busy I've been this year. I spent the first few months writing and editng. At the end of March, I released EKHO: A PNW BIgfoot Story, the adult cryptid horror novella I've been working on since last June. I had to stop several times as The The Talent Continuum demanded I work on it. It finally came to fruition and entered the world on March 26th, 2026!
The Hidden Continent was really fun for me to write. I blasted through it in November, writing 60k words during Novel November with my DIscord group. As a "pantser", I had no idea how it was going to end up. I had originally started writing only Marcus's journey in Dremheim, but now i realized I needed to give Sadie, Leopold, and their friends in Lysomnus a story too. I started from scratch and gave them something I found reallly interesting. Little did I know it would run parallel to Marcus's adventures and end up meeting him at the end, givng him exactly what he needed! It's funny how things work out, even when it's not planned.
It was a painful experience over the last month, to be honest. I've been living and writing in Lysomnus with Marcus and his friends for seven years, and it was hard to say goodbye. So much so, I left the tale a little open ended in case I find myself wanting to back in at some point, especially if readers really want more Marcus.
I've realized that a lot of my writing really centers around grief. I've suffered a lot of grief in my life, and i tend to go there with my stories. Much of this trilogy deals with grief, and The Hidden Continent went deep into exploring emotional subjects, as well as very political areas as well. I can't help it. The world around me is being plunged into darkness, and it shows in my work. i hope it still makes the story something people like. I found myself crying a few times during the editing, and breaking into chills also.
Now both books are published and I'm taking a short break. In a week or two, I'm going to get back to updating the memoir I wrote after my initial diagnosis of brain cancer. This seems apt, as May is brain cancer awareness month. I' m hoping to get it finished in time to publish this month.
In June, I'll be editing and sorting my short stories and preparing an anthology. Once that is done and published, it's on to a novella I've committed to with my BookTok friends. Then I have to finish a dragon YA fantasy i've had on the back burner for a while. As usual, there will be trans and disabled characters in that one.
It's going to be a busy and productive year! If all goes as planned, I'll have published five to six works by the end of 2026. FIngers crossed!
